FAQ


How do I apply for deferred enrolment?
  1. Newly-admitted students who are unable to complete the enrollment process due to any of the following reasons may prepare the valid documents and apply to the Department of Academic Affairs to maintain their admission qualification before the admission deadline.
    • Serious illness that requires long-term recuperation.
    • Compulsory military service.
    • Pregnancy or childbirth.
    • Economic Difficulty.
    • Parenting child under the age of 3.
    Students who apply to maintain their admission qualification for reasons above may be granted a maximum one-year deferment, except in the case of military service which deferment may be granted for as long as the service requires.
  2. Student who is not allowed to apply for deferral in accordance to the University’s Regulation of Admission Brochure may not apply for retention.
Application form: Please download from Office of Academic Affairs website. No fees will be required for individuals approved.
How do I apply for voluntary suspension? For how long? Will I receive a refund?
  1. Application date
  2. From beginning of each semester till one week before midterm examination period. New students can only apply after registration.
  3. Period of suspension
  4. On the basis of two accumulated academic years. Proofs are needed for reapplication due to serious illness or special incident. No more than two academic years will apply. It will not be included in suspension time limit for students with the following circumstances.
    • For those called to military duty during suspension, proof is required to extend suspension time limit. The duration of military service is not included in the period of suspension. Proof of discharge is required for resuming schooling after completing mandatory military service.
    • For those applying for suspension due to pregnancy or childbirth, relevant document and certificate from medical institution are required.
    • For those parenting for a child under 3 years old, a proof of household registration transcript is required.
  5. Approval and signatures of parent(s) or guardian(s) are required for undergraduate students applying for suspension. A Letter of Authorization is also required if someone is applying on behalf of the applicant.
  6. Application procedure
    • Log onto the university leave system and fill in a web leave form (takes effect 1 month after application):(Website: http://osa.ccu.edu.tw/leave)

      The relevant departments will make a determination online within 3 working days. Please check the online results diligently and begin step 2 as soon as the department has approved the leave.

    • Prepare all appropriate suspension documentation:

      Certificates and documentation of proof to support the reason for suspension.

      If the process is to be completed by an authorized person, a Letter of Authorization must also be completed, and copies of the authorizer's personal ID and photo ID of the authorized representative must be presented.

      • Undergraduate: Application of suspension , student ID, parental permission form.
      • Graduate: Application of suspension, student ID.
      • Documents are sent to the proper departments for evaluation and approval:
        • Send to the tutor (or advisor) and department chair for signature.
        • Send to the Division of Student Life, Office of Student Affairs and the Cashier Section, Office of General Affairs for signature.
        • Overseas Chinese and foreign students must register with the Office of International Affairs.
        • Send to the Curriculum Division, Office of Academic Affairs for signature.
        • Send to the Office of Academic Affair for signature.

  7. Notes on Operation
    • Undergraduates: suspension applications without parental approval letters and other relevant documentation will not be processed.
    • Refunds for suspension are all handled by the Cashier’s Office.
    • Grades during suspension periods are not calculated.
    • New students who are applying to suspension must still complete new student registration, but do not need to participate in the physical examination or English test. Suspension procedures must be completed before the deadline of new student registration date in order to receive a full refund. If you complete suspension procedures on the Classes begin date of school, only partial refunds may be made according to refund regulations.
    • Students who reach the end of their suspension period and come back to school as intended do not need to complete return procedures; students just need to download the CCU payment form "Tuition and miscellaneous payments" before the beginning of school and complete payment and registration within the appropriate time frame. If you need a resuming approval, you must complete a “return to school application”. New students who have reached the end of their suspension period and are returning to school must also complete a physical examination before the beginning of school and submit a completed physical examination form to the Division of Sanitation and Health on the first day of school.
    • If you wish to return to school early, you must complete return to school procedures. These procedures must be completed before the beginning of semester that you wish to return.

How may semesters can I apply for suspension? Can I Resume schooling in advance after suspension?
The suspension is by base of semester or academic year. Each application can be done by one semester or one year. The maximum of accumulated suspension is 4 semesters (2 academic years). Resuming school in advance is based by semester. In this case, the enrollment procedure shall be done before beginning of the semester.
How do I resume schooling after suspension?
  1. Students who reach the end of their suspension period and come back to school as intended do not need to complete return procedures; students just need to download the CCU payment form "Tuition and miscellaneous payments" before the beginning of school and complete payment and registration within the appropriate time frame. If you need a return to school approval form, you must complete a “return to school application”. New students who have reached the end of their suspension period and are returning to school must also complete a physical examination before the beginning of school and submit a completed physical examination Report to the Division of Sanitation and Health on the first day of school.
  2. If you wish to return to school early, you must complete return to school procedures. These procedures must be completed before the beginning of semester that you wish to return.
How do I resume schooling after suspension?
Procedures:

  2. Prepare all the appropriate permanent withdrawal documentation:
    • Undergraduate: Application Form for permanent withdrawal, parental permission form, student ID.
    • B. Graduate: Application form of permanent withdrawal, student ID. Students who are currently on temporary suspension do not need to turn in their student IDs

      If the process is to be completed by an authorized person, a Letter of Authorization must also be completed, and copies of the authorizer's personal ID and a photo ID for the authorized representative must be presented.

    • Documents are sent to the proper departments for evaluations and approval:
      • Send to the tutor (or adviser) and department chair for signature.
      • Send to the Division of Student Life, Office of Student Affairs and the Cashier Section, Office of General Affairs for signature.
      • Overseas Chinese and foreign students must register with the Office of International Affairs
      • Submit to the Curriculum Section, Office of Academic Affairs for processing. (and to create a Permanent Withdrawal Approval Letter).
      • Send to the Office of Academic Affair for signature.
      • Curriculum Section, Office of Academic Affairs issues Permanent Withdrawal Approval Letter
Notes on Operation:
  1. Undergraduates: Permanent withdrawal applications without parental approval letters and other relevant documentation will not be processed.
  2. Refunds for the permanent withdrawals are all handled by the Cashier Section.
  3. Grades for the semester of permanent withdrawal are not calculated.
  4. Permanently withdrawal students who have Grades at least one semester in school can also apply a certificate of study.

How to reissue a lost student ID?
For current students, please fill out application form at Office of Academic Affairs. A charge of NT$300 and 3 working days will apply.
Where can I apply for Current or all semesters transcripts? How long will it take for the application?
The following documents and certificates can be applied at Division of Curriculum and Instruction:
  1. School Status Certificate
  2. School Status Certificate in Chinese
  3. School Status Certificate in English
  4. Transcript for all semesters in English
  5. Verification of class ranking in English
  6. Verification of class ranking in Chinese
  7. True copy of diploma (Photocopy & Notarized Stamp)
  8. Verification of Degree in English
